Rewire Your Brain

Okay, this is old school, so stay with me. If you don't recognize the picture above, think of a CD and a discman, but instead square and able to easily record... and make mix-tapes, but I digress...

You have a running tape in your head, that happens to be playing all the time in the background of your life.  This tape runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week in your subconscious mind. Your recording is the foundation of how you live your life today, as it carries all your beliefs that you have created. These beliefs, in turn, are the way you see and navigate your life, and the world around you.

Now, this is great if you love the recording, because it is really all you truly listen to day after day. EVERY action you take is based upon this little cassette tape, playing over and over again in the bakground of your life.  But what if you no longer wish to be "controlled" by an old tape that no longer serves you? It would be like wanting to listen to Justin Timberlake, but you keep playing Def Leppard. Silly right? But that is exactly what is happening.

I don't know about you, but when I made mix tapes with my friends way back when, we got sick of them even before they were done, because we listened to them so often. Once we were done making the tape, new songs came on the radio that we liked even better.  So what did we do? We taped over the old, and recorded new, and even better tapes. Again, I am digressing... but not really, because the analogy is so on point.

There is no reason to keep outdated beliefs and old habits in your subconscious mind. They no longer serve you. Tape over them and start new.  How do you know if it is time to rewind and hit record? Take a look at your life today, what patterns keep playing over and over that you just want to end? What fears stay with you, no matter how hard you try to let them go? Why do you keep getting hit with a 2x4 over and over, every time you think you finally have your life on the right path. That's right, you are playing a 1984 mix tape; and Def Leppard is creeping in again.

Let the old go, tape over it, and allow all you have learned and experienced to be your new recording. It is as easy as that. You have the power to let go and begin new. Give yourself the freedom you deserve.

Hit record, it's a new day, tell yourself what you truly want....

With love, Lucie
